Wanas Sculpture Park

One of our friends Aimee Lax (meaning salmon in Swedish!) had recommended a great sculpture park that she had visited previously.  I had tried to research it on the net but with no luck and by total coincidence it was a 5 min drive from Bruksvillan. Christer was very enthusiastic about it, so despite Mark suffering with a cold and feeling like crap I dragged him round the park. It was a beautiful castle surrounded by forests where the sculptures were hidden like treasures for you to uncover. Our particular favourite was the woman squatting down for a pea by the lakeside, reminded me of the ramblers. They also had an Antony Gormley figure (Angel of the North creator) which Mark seemed to bond with. The artworks on the whole were very interactive and we had a really enjoyable afternoon.

At last I have seen the pictures on the other ‘machine’ then I have to switch back to this one to put the comments on! I like the double-vision picture, was that intentional? also the green ‘peanut’? & the tin tree & I think Mark’s ‘friend’ is a copy of the one in Brum by the ‘Floosie in the Jacuzzi’? Are you welding something Helen? and I love the ramblers ‘pit-stop’ sculpture

I’m very impressed mum the iron man in B’ham by the floosie is also an Antony Gormley…well spotted! The double vision thing was a glass mirror, Mark was inside and I was outside. It was like a magic mirror on the outside you looked thin and the inside fat hence our positioning, I could have stood there all day!
